Maruti Ritz Review

We have tasted two variations of the car - the Zxi in Petrol model and VDi ABS in Diesel variant. Here we shall discuss about different aspects as the cars were performed in actual testing conditions.

Air Conditioner: -

We were testing the cars in this extreme hot clime of Central India in the middle of June. You cannot expect the air-conditioning system anywhere in the world to work so much so that you are a little sizzled out.

Maruti Ritz ZXi

The ZXi variation was having ‘Climate Control’ feature tagged in it. The Air conditioner was working well. The temperature at the co-passenger seat area was also had a great cooling.  There was just a little jerk when you start the air-conditioned in ‘on’ position. No significant decrease in the pick-up. We were able to dribble the other cars with great ease.

Maruti Ritz VDi ABS

Regarding air-conditioned, the VDi ABS variants also not having any problem. But as with other diesel cars, the sound was a little too high. VDi ABS does not feature ‘Climate Control’. Therefore, the same aspects were seen in the co-passenger’s seat also. No significant drop in the pick-up when you turn on the airconditioner.

Steering: -

Maruti Ritz ZXi

All the models of Maruti Ritz feature power steering. This variant worked very smoothly. The Maruti Ritz ZXi also features title steering which is of a convenience for the driver. The turn circle radius was 4.7 meter.

Maruti Ritz VDi ABS

The power steering was performing nicely, no problem with that. VDi ABS does not feature ’tilt steering’.

Brakes: -

Both the variants feature ventilated disc in the front and the drum brakes in the rear side. No problem with the brakes also. We could able to stop the vehicle within 10 meters when at the speed of 60 KMPH.

Mileage: -

This is a significant point at these days of economic meltdown. The mileage of Maruti Ritz is a great advantage over other similar cars. According to actual testing conditions both the variants performed more or less similar to the company claim.

Maruti Ritz ZXi

Maruti Ritz ZXi is a petrol version and was giving 13 KMPL in city riding and 16 KMPL in highway riding.

Maruti Ritz VDi ABS

Maruti Ritz VDi ABS was the diesel variation and was offering 16 KMPL in city riding and 18 KMPL in highway riding.

I took Maruti Ritz VDi for a test drive and fell in love with the performance. Its amazing in pick up and braking. I never felt that it was a diesel engine because there was no lag in power even at lower rpm. The interiors are practically designed. Thanks Maruti, Ritz rocks !!!!

I am using Ritz and it is an excellent car to drive. It has got airbags, ABS, EBD and hence safe in highways too. Ritz is good looking on the outside too. On the interiors, the quailty is durable and its Maruti, hence no problem with service and spare parts costs, which are affordable. Maruti cars are having good resale value, hence I am happily using Ritz everyday to my office :) and its giving an excellent mileage of 18 kmpl too!!
